A slow drain or a backup rarely fixes itself. Acme Sewer & Drain Cleaning is a licensed, owner-operated Utah plumbing contractor. We find out what is causing the clog, clear it, and tell you straight what we found. Call (801) 930-8000 to get on the schedule.
A drain problem can start small, but it rarely stays small. If you have slow drains, gurgling or clogs that keep coming back, something is building up in the line and it needs to come out. We clear drains all over the Greater Salt Lake Area, including:
If more than one fixture is acting up, the problem is usually in the main line and not in a single drain.
On any real stoppage we put a camera down the line first. That shows us where the blockage is and what it is made of: grease, roots, scale, a broken pipe or something that does not belong in there. Then we choose the right tool instead of guessing.
Snake (drain auger): good for hair, soap scum and blockages close to the drain opening.
Hydro jetting: high-pressure water that cleans the pipe walls. We use different nozzles for different jobs, and jetting is the better choice for grease, heavy buildup and clogs that keep coming back.
After cleaning we make sure the line is draining properly, and on a main line we can run the camera again to confirm it is clear.
Kitchen drains: grease, food and disposal backups.
Bathroom drains: hair, soap scum and mineral buildup in showers, tubs and sinks.
Toilet drains: repeat clogs that plunging does not fix.
Floor drains: basement, laundry and garage drains that back up from dirt, sediment and lint.
Main sewer lines: blockages that affect more than one drain at once.
We also clean drains and lines for restaurants and commercial buildings, including urinal lines. Lines that build up grease or scale are best kept on a regular schedule.
How often should drains be professionally cleaned? Many homes do fine with cleaning every year or two, and sooner if you have had clogs or older plumbing. Restaurant and commercial lines are usually on a set schedule.
What does drain cleaning cost? It depends on which drain it is, where the clog is, whether a camera or hydro jetting is needed, and the access. Call (801) 930-8000 and we will tell you.
What can I do before you get there? Clear the area around the affected drain and stop using it if you can. Let us know when it started, which drains are affected and whether it has backed up before.
What are the benefits of hydro jetting? It removes heavy buildup like grease, sludge and scale and cleans the inside of the pipe, which helps stop repeat clogs.
